For the second instalment of ‘Excellence’ we ventured up to the remote and idyllic studio of artist Nick Smith on the west coast of Scotland. Nick and his family relocated from London to a stunning corner of the country and have really created a beautiful little world for themselves. From a hybrid home school/art studio to an outdoor bath with a view to die for.

We took to Accoutrement Studios to task stylist Stephen Mann with the job of producing an extensive number of looks to shoot on model and create the lifestyle mood that the brand were after. We also shot subtle still life to sit alongside the looks and further hammer home the utter beauty of each piece.

We follow Alex a Michelin Stared chef as he forages for mushrooms in his adopted Northumberland. Then a real treat as he takes them back to his kitchen at Restaurant Hjem and cooks us the best mushroom’s on toast you’ve ever eaten!

As part of our ‘Makers’ series for the spring summer 21 season we visit Marchmont House in the Scottish Boarders. We feature the two craftsmen behind this wonderful project Richard Platt and Sam Cooper and learn how they are saving a dying craft.

When Guy Fergusons father passed on the two huge cattle farms in the North East Guy was managing multi billion dollar hedge funds. He gave us his life in the city and retuned back to Northumberland to farm and carry on the families legacy. Never forgetting his New York and London influences I challenge you to find a more stylish and discerning farmer.

Chris Churchill is an outdoor fanatic, he loves nothing more than being in the sea and surfing. He also teaches his art and its through this sharing of a craft that we shoehorned him into being featured in our ‘Makers’ series for spring summer ‘21.
